Round 4

BEAUTY NEWC!

Chandler 1

Mooroolbark 246 (L.Grigg 83, T.Flanagan 57, R.Ellisdon 48, P.Brush) vs Wonga Park 224 (A.Freeman 6/62, M.D'arcy 1/56, W.McKenzie 1/42, L.Grigg 1/13)

Mooroolbark, winning the toss, had no hesitation in batting. Dick and debutante, Paul Brush, opened the batting and got the innings away to a great start of 63 before Brushy was dismissed. Dicky soon followed for a well compiled 48 before a flurry of lost wickets saw the Barks slump to 5/103. It was here Trav Flanagan joined Lincoln Grigg to smash a 113 run sixth wicket partnership to steer Mooroolbark to 246 all out. Linc continues his solid form with an entertaining 83 and Trav finished with 57. Wickets fell at a steady rate the following week with Freezer being the pick of the bowlers capturing 6/62 off 21 overs (9 maidens). He was well supported by a fiery Matt D'arcy, whose figures of 1/56 off 23 overs (5 maidens), did not do him justice as he kept the Wonga batsmen on their toes. Just as Wonga looked set for an unlikely win Travis Jackson took a blinder of a catch to swing the game Mooroolbark's way. A good win.

Mooroolbark 193 (J.Uilderks 40, B.Jones 27, A.Gale 21, M.DeHoon 20) vs Wonga Park 9/200cc (C.Perrett 4/43, D.Wardley 2/30)

The Barkers, batting first on a slow Heights ground, struggled to get runs with Jonesy (27), Butch (21) and Chris Piggott (15), who opened the innings, all getting starts. The consistent Plugger, again scoring 40, held the top order together. The Barks eventually slumped to 9/150 before Dash (16) joined Muzza (20) to steer the total to a respectable 193. The second week saw the game hanging in the balance all day. Wonga reached 7/150 before Mooroolbark missed 4 chances in 24 balls allowing the opposition to pass our score with 9 wickets down. A disappointing loss to the top side.

Chandler 3

Mooroolbark 6/285cc (D.Emery 68*, J.Fisher 51*, D.Arnott 39, B.Griffiths 26, R.Mantel 25) vs Wonga Park 8/270cc (D.Emery 3/55, T.Meredith 2/50, B.Griffiths 2/70)

Wonga, winning the toss, batted first on the small top ground at Wonga Park and got away to a reasonable start reaching 2/80, before some tight bowling from Daryl and Bryn saw them collapse to 6/113 at tea. Some sensible batting and missed chances saw Wonga reach 8/190 before finishing at 8/270. Some good fielding saw Tim Meredith take two sharp chances in the slips. Bryn Griffiths bowled very well from one end to finish with 2/70 off 20 overs and Daryl bowled well to take 3/55 off 14. The second week started off well with Arch and Biscuit putting on 45 before Arch departed for 20. Bryn joined Biscuit to take the score to 80 before Biscuit was out for a well compiled 39. Daryl and Bryn then took the score to 113 before Bryn was out for 26. At tea the Barks were sitting in a strong position at 3/120. Soon after tea Matt Gale went for 6 and was replaced by the big hitting Rob Mantel, who took 18 off one over on his way to 25 off 12 balls before departing at 5/161. Donna quickly followed Rob with 22 off 10 balls, steering the total to 6/196. Fish then joined a solid Daryl Emery to record an unbeaten 89 run stand where Fish scored 51 n.o. and Daryl 68 n.o. A great win against some spirited opposition.

Chandler 4

Mooroolbark 174 & 4/121 (B.Kesters 42, L.Miller 40, M.Ross 26, R.Newbegin 14) vs Wonga Park 127 (T.Newcomb 7/62, R.Stevens 2/35)

The Barkers, batting first, compiled 174 led by the consistent Brad Kesters (42), Luke Miller (40), Mark Ross (26) and Ross Newbegin (14), who showed the hard work in the nets is starting to pay off. With 174 on the board it was going to take some good bowling and Ross Stevens started sensationally taking a wicket in each of his first two overs. 'Tiger' Tim Newcomb then took over from Ross to terrorise the frightened Wonga batsmen and record 7/62 off 20.2 fiery overs. A great spell which bowled his team to victory. In the second innings Tim (28), Ryan Mullett (37) and Mark Ross (25) all batted well to see the Barks make 4/121. A sensational win.

Mooroolbark 7/327cc (T.Guy 86, P.Mitchell 61*, D.Linley 57, T.Kane 38, M.Duckworth 30) vs South Ringwood 7/257cc (T.Keogh 2/27, D.Pring 2/31)

With 327 on the first day the F Troop were never going to be beaten. Tony Guy finally got some runs with 86 and was well supported by the consistent Peter Mitchell (61 n.o.). The evergreen Dick Linley made a fine 57 and the young blokes, Travis Kane (38) and Ducky (30) gave solid support to an imposing total. Trevor Keogh and Danny Pring were the pick of the bowlers picking up two wickets a piece. Everyone got a trundle, and some poor keeping allowed the Southerners to reach 7/257. An easy win for the boys.

G Grade

Mooroolbark 9/241cc (B.Fay 87, G.Watkins 48, N.Woods 44) vs Croydon North 9/177cc (N.Woods 3/25, S.Cox 2/33)

Bowling the first week, the Barkers did well to restrict the Northerners to 9/177 from their allotted overs. Neil Woods bowled well to pick up 3/25 and Shane Cox bowled an excellent 18 over spell to claim 2/33. The win was never in doubt the next week as Woodsy again led the way in the top order for 44. Brendan Fay batted very sensibly for a well made 87 and with Geoff Watkins again amongst the runs with 48 (including a 4th wicket partnership of 109 with Brendan) easily led the boys to victory. A sensational effort for a first up victory lads.

Round 5

Chandler 1

Mooroolbark 141 (R.Ellisdon 36, K.Trollope 29, P.Brush 19) vs Croydon North 157 & 3/32 (W.McKenzie 4/33, A.Freeman 3/24)

Croydon North, batting first, were looking solid at 2/80 before a minor collapse saw them 4/90 at tea, off 50 overs. Shrewd tactics, leaving around 30 to bowl. After tea Wazza bowled splendidly to snare 4/33 to support Freezer's 3/24. Tight bowling and fielding saw North out for 157 right on stumps. Resuming the following week , the Barks got off to a great start reaching 45 before Brushy was run out for 19, soon to be followed by Dick for 36. After this the Barks lost 8/70 to be eventually all out for 141. A bad loss against the arch-rivals.

Chandler 2

Mooroolbark 153 & 4/41 (J.Kilby 52, L.Painter 22, D.Wardley 19) vs Croydon North 156 (A.Gale 5/34, M.DeHoon 2/32)

Winning the toss on a rather slow Hughes Park surface, the Barks got off to a poor start when Darran Arnott was out for 2 off his pad. A shocking decision by the ump! The boys reached 4/80 at tea, with Paints again amongst the runs with 22. John Kilby, with a fine 52, got himself back into form holding the top order together. After tea the wheels really fell off to be 9/120 before Bugs and Dasher put on 33 for the last wicket, with Dasher making a slashing 19, and in the process batting his way up from no. 11 for future games. Muzza, second last out, really got one of the worst decisions in the history of cricket. The most disappointing aspect was how Muzza was not called back by the Croydon North players or captain. So much for cricket being a gentleman's game. It was also rumoured Donna wasn't too happy about his LBW decision. With 153 on the board, the Barkers snared 2 wickets in the last session to have the Northerners 2/37 overnight. Wickets were hard to come by early in the second day with Butch the only bloke seeming to get the breakthroughs. A collapse before tea saw North at 8/122 and a sniff of victory in the air. Muz, who bowled splendidly all day with little luck, proved unplayable after tea bowling seven consecutive maidens and after he snared the 9th wicket at 148 the stage was set. However the bloke who was spilled earlier hit the winning runs causing the second gut-wrenching loss in a row for the two's. Butch Gale's superb bowling netted him 5/34 off 24 overs. Muz bowled well without luck to take 2/32 off 21 overs with 10 maidens. A disappointing way to lose such a good game of cricket, but I'm sure the boys will take it out by pulverising the Parkwood Pumas next game.

Chandler 3

Mooroolbark 6/280cc (J.Fisher 83, B.Griffiths 80, N.Cullis 33, R.Mantel 25) vs Croydon North 8/190cc (T.Newcomb 4/35, M.Gale 2/19, A.Murray 2/40)

Croydon North won the toss and batted first. A decision they would regret as a rampaging Tim Newcomb ripped the heart out of their top order picking up 4/35 off 21 hostile overs. The only thing preventing him from grabbing another 6 wicket haul was his graduation dinner. North struggled from 5/26 to 7/61, before a big partnership saw them reach 190 at stumps. Neil Cullis opened up with John Fisher and together they put on a sensational 80 run opening stand before Neil departed for 33. Bryn Griffiths joined Fish and they took the Barks towards victory with a solid partnership before Fish went for 83. He had been savage on anything outside off stump racing from 57 to 83 in about 3 overs. Brad Kesters came and went for 16 and Rob Mantel scored 25 off half as many deliveries as the Barks strolled to victory. With only a few overs to go and his maiden century in sight Bryn was dismissed for a career high 80. The Big Fella was a delight to watch playing some breathtaking cover drives that were a visual delicacy. A top win fellas. Keep the ball rolling next week.

Chandler 4

Mooroolbark 71 (J.Coulsell 20) vs Croydon North 214 & 7/84 (R.Newbegin 5/60)

Croydon North, winning the toss, batted and confronted a fired up Ross Newbegin who snagged 5/60 off 20 excellent overs. He was well backed up by the other bowlers, who shared the wickets, restricting the Northerners to 214 at stumps. However the next week was an embarrassment, being rolled for 71, with John Coulsell (20) the only bloke to get double figures. What was more disgraceful was how a bloke who worked???, showed up at around 4 o'clock, saw his teammates fielding, and went back to work, letting his teammates down badly. Bounce back against Parkwood next week fellas and bring home the bacon.

F Grade

Mooroolbark 5/336cc (T.Guy 115, B.Fay 54*, C.Bowen 42, M.Duckworth 34, L.Malvaso 26) vs Norwood 7/240cc (J.Barrand 4/54, B.Woods 2/31, T.Keogh 1/28)

Tony Guy won the toss and had no hesitation in batting. And why would he? Tony and Ducky put on 96 before Ducky was again out in the thirties, while Tony continued on to make 115 and totally demoralise the bottom placed Norwood. He had ample assistance from Corey Bowen (42), Leo Malvaso (26) and Brendan Fay who smashed 54, including 5 towering sixes off 30 balls. With 336 on the board the boys were never going to lose. JB, with 4/54, was the pick of the bowlers and young Ben Woods chipping in with a handy 2/31. Another good win setting them up with a chance to go to 5 wins and 1 loss at Christmas.

G Grade

Mooroolbark 128 (G.Watkins 27, N.Woods 26) vs Wantirna South 123 & 3/95 (N.Woods 3/15, N.Roper 2/24, D.Pring 1/5, S.Cox 1/33)

Woodsy again led the way for the Sixth XI snaring the club's second hat trick of the season, all bowled with his offies. He was well supported by the ageless Neville Roper with 2/24 off 12 overs, while Pringy, Coxy and Rev claimed a wicket each to roll the Swans for 123. Being 3/25 overnight was not a great position to be in and Rev and Woodsy saw us slowly inch towards the target before Rev went for 15. Woodsy soon followed Rev with 26 and it was left to the ever reliable Geoff Watkins to steer the ship home with one wicket in hand. A gutsy win fellas and make it three on the trot next week.

Round 6

YOUNG GUNS BLAZE, AS SHEP & FAY LEAD THE WAY

Chandler 1

Mooroolbark 241 (J.Shepherd 88, R.Ellisdon 51, M.D'arcy 21) vs Parkwood 220 & 1/48 (T.Jackson 3/53, W.McKenzie 2/20, M.D'arcy 2/72)

Losing the toss in oppressive heat was not the best start for the boys, but a wicket before the Pumas had a run on the board was just what the doctor ordered. However things were looking ominous at 2/105 before tight bowling from Wazza and Jacko reeled them in. With the help of some tight fielding the Woodsmen were restricted to a reasonable 220. Thanks go to young Matty Gale and Dasher, who subbed for the injured Dick. Resuming at 0/4 overnight Brushy went early bringing together Shep and Dick for a fantastic 105 run partnership before Dicky departed for 51. Plugger then joined Shep, who was belting them all over the park, and they took the score to 172 before Plugger was dismissed for a well compiled 18. Shep soon followed for a great 88, but what happened after this was pretty awful. 7/47 was lost to see the Barkers reeling at 9/219, two runs shy of victory. Darc strode to the crease to join Wazza and knocked off the required runs to finish with 21. Up the other end Wazza was rock solid (0 not out off 48 balls) seeing the Barkers to victory.

Chandler 2

Mooroolbark 187 (D.Fisk 62, C.Perrett 28, M.Dehoon 23*) & 1/90 (B.Jones 53*, B.Griffiths 24*) vs Parkwood 155 (D.Emery 2/13, S.D'Rozario 2/22)

Butch won the toss and had no hesitation in batting, but only Darren Fisk took advantage of the conditions to make a well compiled 62. Down the order Col Perrett chipped in with 28 and Muzza DeHoon finished unbeaten on 23 to leave the Barks all out for 187. Two wickets overnight certainly helped the cause, and with tight bowling from all the bowlers, the Pumas were all out for 155. Daryl and Dingo were the best of the bowlers picking up two wickets apiece. In the second dig the Barkers reached 1/90 in next to no time with Jonesy smashing a swashbuckling 53n.o. and Bryn Griffiths finishing on 24n.o.

Chandler 3

Mooroolbark 9/427cc (D.Arnott 132, J.Fisher 91, R.Mantel 72, S.Archer 44) & 8/135 (S.Donovan 31, T.Newcomb 23) vs Parkwood 145 (S.Donovan 4/32, D.Wardley 3/49, T.Newcomb 2/38)

To the sheer delight of his teammates Fish won the toss on a stinker of a day and had no hesitation in batting. Neil Cullis and Fish got the boys to 64 before Neil was out for 14. It was here Darran Arnott joined Fish for what was to be an epic journey. Darran's driving was absolute text book cricket, crunching ball after ball to the fence, while Fish was brutal on anything short, cutting and pulling superbly. However, with the score on 196, Fish's journey ended on 91 when he ran himself out. Biscuit was then joined by Arch who chipped in with 44 including one massive six over mid-wicket. Arch and Darren put on a partnership of 79 in which Darren continued to plunder the bowling bringing up his maiden century before Arch was dismissed. Rob Mantel then joined Darran, who continued belting the bowlers everywhere before fatigue finally set in and he was out for a magnificent 132. With the score now at 345 he had set the Barkers up for a massive total. Rob Mantel put the big shots in the bag making a sensible 72. The lower order then pushed the score to 9/427, a seemingly impossible task against a strong Mooroolbark attack. Tim Newcomb started the ball rolling the next week with a fiery opening spell, picking up a smart caught and bowled in his first two wickets. A fantastic piece of work by Dash in the field saw him run out the third Parkwood batsman at 35. A dangerous partnership of 75 was starting to develop between Parkwood\'92s gun bats before Donna bobbed up with a sharp caught and bowled, then the next ball bowled their captain middle stump. However his third ball was ordinary, not getting the desired result, before the fourth ball was brilliantly caught off his own bowling in what will surely be voted catch of the year. Donna finished with 4/32 and Dasher cleaned up the tail to finish with 3/49. A comprehensive victory, and with about 25 overs left, the Barkers had another bat, hoping to hit some big bonus points. But only Donna (31) and Tim Newcomb (23) got starts as the team crashed to 8/135.

Chandler 4

Mooroolbark 8/355cc (C.Holwell 120*, T.Meredith 75, B.Kesters 41, R.Pieters 31) vs Parkwood 9/226cc (L.Miller 4/46, M.Ross 3/64)

After a dismal showing in the previous match the fourths were keen to atone. But only Brad Kesters (41) and Rick Pieters (31) featured as the Barks crashed to 6/136. It was here Craig Holwell and Tim Meredith joined forces to resurrect their dwindling finals hopes. The boys clouted a superb 7th wicket 4th XI record partnership of 155. Tim was dismissed for a stylish 75 while Craig continued on his merry way to a well deserved maiden century. The runs continued to flow with Craig ending on 120n.o. and the team with 355. Parkwood never looked like getting the runs, being more content to bat out their overs finishing up at 9/226. The consistent Mark Ross finished with a handy 3/64 (21 overs) and Luke Miller snared 4/46 (12). A good win with fine efforts from Craig, Tim and Luke.

F Grade

Mooroolbark 276 (B.Fay 151, T.Keogh 31, J.Barrand 14*) vs Wantirna South 166 (J.Barrand 6/69, T.Keogh 3/14)

Tony lost the toss in the searing heat and the Barkers were put into the field. This proved to be not such a bad thing as Trevor Keogh and JB were on song, ripping through the Southerners for 166. Trevor bagged 3/14 (10 overs) and JB picked up his second six wicket haul of the season, 6/69 off 18 overs). Overnight the Barks were 4/59 after 18 overs. Resuming the second week wickets continued to tumble seeing the score slump to 8/117. This is when Trevor Keogh joined Brendan Fay to set about rescuing the game. Not only did they rescue the game, the experienced veteran and the young talent put the issue beyond doubt, putting on 98 for the 9th wicket before Trevor went for 31 leaving Brendan 99. In came No. 11, JB, who has taken three times as many wickets as runs made. However Brendan was not to be denied his maiden century as JB hung around to make 14n.o. Brendan continued to blitz the hapless Swans blasting his way to 151 and almost single handedly leading the F-Troop to victory. A 10th wicket partnership of 61 finished off a good win for the boys.

G Grade

Mooroolbark 229 (D.Pring 50, N.Roper 49, B.Mullett 23*, K.Bull 18) vs Wantirna South 165 (B.Mullett 2/24, N.Woods 2/28, G.Chandler 2/46)

Playing the Southerners for the second round in a row the boys were keen to show their win the previous week was no fluke. Winning the toss and batting the Swans crashed to be dismissed for 165. Tight bowling saw Ben Mullett, 'Tiger' Woods and Rev pick up two wickets apiece. Pringy and Skip opened the batting seeing the Barks to 0/40 overnight. On resumption they continued on their merry way taking the score to 96 before Skip was out for 49. Soon after Pringy was out for a very well made and disciplined 50, which I believe is his first at senior level. Well done fella. At the bottom of the order Keith Bull continued a good day for No. 11's making 18 while Ben Mullett had a good all round game finishing on 23n.o., helping the 6th's to a comfortable win.

Rounds 7 & 8

SHEP & THOMMO SEND RECORDS TUMBLING IN 264 RUN STAND

Chandler 1

Mooroolbark 6/190cc (J.Shepherd 96*, L.Grigg 43) vs Warrandyte 170 (T.Jackson 3/30, A Freeman 2/17, L.Grigg 2/27, M.D'arcy 2/42)

Winning the toss and batting the Barks found themselves in early strife at 3/41 before Linc joined Shep to steady the ship with a fantastic 118 run 4th wicket partnership. Linc departed for a disciplined 43 while Shep continued towards the magical figure, eventually finishing 4 runs short on 96n.o. (four 4's and four huge 6's). No doubt the slow Heights ground costing Shep a ton. The Barkers finished on 6/190. Solid bowling and fielding always saw the 'Dyters behind the eight-ball. Matt, Linc and Jacko all picked up important wickets. A middle order partnership saw Warrandyte get within striking distance before Freezer cleaned up the tail. Kenny finished the match with 5 catches behind the stumps as Warrandyte fell 20 runs short.

Mooroolbark 4/321cc (J.Shepherd 161, S.Thompson 110*) vs Ainslie Park 8/246cc (L.Grigg 3/38, W.McKenzie 3/57)

After winning the toss Mooroolbark were in early trouble at 3/37 due to some poor strokeplay and shoddy running between the wickets. This is when 1st XI debutant, Shane Thompson, and Jason Shepherd went about completely obliterating a hapless Ainslie Park attack. Thommo was a delight to watch, especially square of the wicket, while Shep continued his stunning form with a hard hitting, season high, 161. A relatively easy chance put down by the Parkers on 57 cost them dearly as Shep put on another 104. Together they put on a record 1st XI, 4th wicket partnership of 264, also a 1st XI all wicket record. They fell just 34 runs short of the club record held by Neville Roper and Dean Fletcher. With an asking rate of 6.44 an over Ainslie were always going to struggle. Linc was the pick of the bowlers with 3/38, continuing his good season with both bat and ball, and Wazza claimed 3/57 as the Parkers finished with 8/246 handing the Barkers a comprehensive 75 run victory.

Chandler 2

Mooroolbark 5/167cc (D.Fisk 61*, B.Jones 35, A.Gale 34, D.Emery 15*) vs Ainslie Park 7/159cc (D.Emery 3/32, M.DeHoon 2/31, C.Perrett 2/57)

This was a crucial match for the Magoo's with their finals chances hinging on beating the fourth placed Ainslie. The Parkers batted first and some tight early bowling from Muzza and Col kept the runs and wickets in check. Ainslie were pushing around four an over before Darryl came on near the end and claimed 3/32 to restrict them to 7/159 on the slow Heights ground. A positive run chase saw a steady Fisky keep the runs ticking over while quickfire knocks of 35 and 34 by Jonesy and Butch put the Barkers within reach of victory. With six an over required from the last three overs Big D took matters into his own hands hitting a massive six and a four to ease the pressure. With Fisky nudging the ball around victory was achieved with more than an over to spare. A top win fellas and keep the good work going.

Chandler 3

Mooroolbark 6/291cc (S.Archer 57, M.Piggott 54*, D.Arnott 47, R.Mantel 44, J.Fisher 39, S.Donovan 37) vs Ainslie Park 8/187 (M.Piggott 5/49, D.Wardley 2/47)

In the top of the table clash the Dream Team were determined to be top dogs. Winning the toss, Fish (39) and Biscuit (47) got Mooroolbark off to a good start of 78 before Fish went. Biscuit soon followed, as did the Big Fella in the quest for quick runs. This brought together big Rob Mantel (44 off 31 balls) and Arch (57) who put on 78 for the fourth wicket. Mick and Donna then joined forces with Mick scoring at a run a ball. This included one big pull shot that was caught on the fence. However the Ainslie captain showed uncharacteristic sportsmanship for a Parker and called Mick back as the catch was taken over the boundary. At the other end Donna was in a cavalier mood smashing 21 off one over and racing to 33 off 11 balls before slowing down considerably to be out for 37 off 18. Mick finished on 54n.o. and the boys had put on 76 for the 6th wicket. 105 runs came from the last 10 overs as the Barks finished at 6/291. Al Murray took the new ball and bowled well without luck early. Ainslie were going at the required seven runs an over when Donna took a sharp catch at point. Dasher was brought into the attack and did a good job restricting the scoring. He picked up his first wicket when Donna ran some 40 metres around the boundary to take a brilliant catch only centimetres from the turf. His second of the day. Mick Piggott was introduced from the other end and continued to mesmerise the batsmen, snaring five wickets, with Tim Newcomb taking two good catches as the Dream Team stormed into top spot. Top win!

Chandler 4

Mooroolbark 157 (M.Gale 60) vs Ainslie Park 9/201cc (M.Ross 3/40, I.Stewart 2/20, R.Stevens 2/54)

Ainslie won the toss and batted first compiling 9/201 at the compulsory closure. The Colin Miller of the 4th XI, Mark Ross, continued his solid form with the ball picking up 3/40 off 8 overs. The evergreen Ian Stewart and Ross Stevens each claimed two wickets. With a win vital to keep their finals hopes alive, Noddy Gale played a lone hand at the top of the order making a fine 60 as the rest of the team capitulated to be all out for 157.

Mooroolbark 4/264cc (N.Ogden 95, B.Fay 67, J.Coulsell 37, R.Linley 27) vs Ainslie Park 8/245cc (J.Barrand 5/80)

Batting first the Barkers amassed 4/264 on Kiloran Park. Nick Ogden stared with a career high 95. He was superbly supported by the hard hitting Brendan Fay, who made a cameo innings of 67 right at the end. John Coulsell (37) and Dick Linley (27) also made handy contributions. Chasing 6.5 an over was a big ask and some poor fielding and sloppy catching gave Ainslie a big chance, despite a lionhearted effort from JB, who bowled almost exclusively from one end to finish with 5/80 from 18 overs. He was not well supported by his fellow bowlers who conceded around 8 an over. A good win with top efforts from Nick, JB and Brendan.

G Grade

Mooroolbark 173 (S.Cox 38, N.Woods 30, C.Bowen 26*, C.Claven 24) vs Templeton 57 (S.Cox 4/5, B.Mullett 3/20, G.Chandler 2/24, N.Woods 1/6)

After winning the toss and batting first handy contributions were made at the top of the order from both Coxy (38) and 'Tiger' Woods (30). A mini collapse set in before Col Claven (three huge sixes) and Corey Bowen (two sixes) helped the Barkers to a more competitive total of 173. Benny Mullett and Rev tore the heart out of first placed Templeton's top order with the new ball having them 5/44. Coxy was introduced and proceeded to destroy the lower order claiming 4/5 and Tiger chipped in with 1/6 to completely rout them. This must have given the boys a great feeling, reversing the diabolical round one result, and had it been a two day game I'm sure the boys would have won outright. Great win fellas, you've done yourselves and your club proud.
